The Cactus Show
The Cactus Show gathers twenty-five artists around a single stubborn subject: a plant that hoards what it needs and arms itself with needles, yet still charms us with its flowers. The cactus is a survivor and a seducer at once, refusing nothing. Its shape draws us in because we recognize ourselves in it — arms raised in surrender, or in defiance.
The show is as much a gathering as an exhibition — a reason to leave the city for a weekend and be among peers and open land. Artists and audiences have been attracted to the Hudson Valley for years now, and a quiet stretch of farm country has become a place where art lives and breathes.
