Two of the same organism, which is one organism twice. A copy raises no biological problem and an enormous problem of every other kind: ownership, originality, what it means for a living thing to have been specified rather than descended.
Colored pencil is a copying medium too — mark laid beside mark until an image accumulates. Drawing a clone by hand takes exactly as long the second time.
