Elephant

An elephant is the animal we use as shorthand for the thing everybody can see and nobody mentions. Rendered as a specimen, it stops being shorthand and becomes an organism with paperwork.
It sits in this group as a scale problem: the engineered novelties in these drawings are small and charming, and the consequence is not.
