The word arrives on hand-painted signs at the roadside, which is where American apocalypse actually lives — not in scripture but in signage.
The group is about how completely the fear got absorbed and sold back to us with the edges taken off. An instruction that once carried real terror now reads as local colour, and the drawing takes it at full sincerity anyway.
