Starfish

A starfish can regrow an arm, and from that arm regrow the animal. Regeneration was doing what genetic engineering was promising, quietly, long before there was a market for it.
Small — fourteen by eleven — and drawn in the plain register of a natural history plate. The point of the group is how little the plate has to change to accommodate the new.
