Sun Projection

Every empire has claimed the sun — on coins, on flags, on the backs of dollar bills — so I wanted to make one and put it on a wall in public. Projected at night, it reads less like a sky than like signage, which is the honest condition of the symbol now.
The rest of this series renders the myth by hand, slowly, at a cost you can measure in months. This one borrows the fast machinery instead: a lamp, a surface, a shape recognized before it's considered, and gone the moment somebody cuts the power. Both are ways of asking what the emblem is actually made of.
