Sun Spiral

The sun is the one invisible system everybody has already agreed to worship — a fusion reaction we experience as weather, mood, and time of day. Drawn as a spiral, it becomes a mechanism rather than an emblem.
The spiral is the shape energy takes when it has somewhere to go and nowhere to arrive: galaxies, shells, drains. Hand-built in colored pencil, the form accumulates the way the thing it describes does.
