Atlas holds the world up as punishment, not as service. Casting him as a boy changes the sentence — the weight arrives before there was any decision to be responsible for it.
An archival print pushed to a saturation that removes it from documentary. These read as icons because the parables they carry are much older than the figures standing in for them.
