Made in Mexico City and Los Angeles. The group takes myths, parables and characters that have been carried for centuries and sets them down in the present — saints and warnings in a much older visual language, standing in the traffic of a modern city. The color and saturation is what pushes them out of documentary, so the figures come across as otherworldly, somewhere between a relic and a broadcast. Religious imagery re-emerging at a moment when faith is questioned nightly and needed all the same.
