The first woman, and the one assigned the blame for knowledge. She stands in front of Glendale, miles from where a large percentage of the world's pornography is made. The oldest story about a woman and the appetite she was blamed for, staged against the industry that still runs on it.
At the scale of an altarpiece panel rather than a picture, printed rather than drawn, and saturated hard, so the figure reads as icon instead of document. That is the method of the whole group: characters and parables that have been carried for centuries, put back down in a present that has not stopped needing them. Religious imagery resurfacing at a moment when faith is questioned nightly and wanted anyway.
